How Do I Donate to First United?

One Time Gifts

To make a one time gift, please write a cheque made out to First United Church. We are working on setting up credit card payments over the internet. Watch this page for news of when that will happen. In the meantime, you may place your cheque in an envelope, drop it off at the church office, place it in the offering plate, or mail it to First United Church, 721 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6P6

If you already have offering envelopes or you are on PAR (Pre-authorized Remittance) be sure to put your envelope or PAR number on your cheque to be sure you get your tax receipt at the end of the year. A tax receipt is normally mailed to you at the end of the year, but you may request an immediate one if you like.

Monthly Giving
PAR: Preauthorized Remittance

Monthly giving is a great way to express your commitment to the ongoing ministries of your church. Your gift keeps coming even when you are away. It is income First United can count on to plan the programs that change lives, enrich our community, develop leaders and offer spiritual nurture. You can change the amount or cancel at any time. When you are “on PAR” your offering is automatically deducted on the 20th of each month. A receipt is issued at the end of the year.

Click here for a PAR Brochure, Authorization that explains how it works. Or download the PAR Authorization Form to get started. You can use the same form if you’re already on PAR and want to change the amount or distribution of your monthly gift.

Prepay Your Summer Offerings

People often go away during the summer months. The reduced offerings strain our cash flow during that time, forcing us to borrow over the summer. It is a great help to prepay your offerings for the summer before you go away.

A Gift of Stocks or Securities

Changes to federal tax regulations have eliminated capital gains tax on charitable gifts of publicly traded stocks, bonds and mutual funds. If you would like to do this let us know and we’ll help you set it up.

A Gift for the Future

Consider making a legacy gift for the future by including First United in your will or by donating a life insurance policy or gift annuity. Again, let us know and we’ll help you set this up.

Memorial or Commemorative Gifts

These may be made to remember and honour a family member, friend, business or organization.
